Ascension Welcomes the Rev. Patricia  C. Cashman, Priest-in-Charge
 I Have Arrived/I Am Home - May 15, 2011

The contemplative/activist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh teaches these words to bring contemplative peace to the world. Now, I use them in a personal way; the vestry and members of Ascension Church have welcomed me to Rochester to serve them as their priest. As the new Priest-in-Charge I will be an urban pastor in the Diocese of Rochester, loving and serving not only the members of Ascension but particularly the community of Maplewood. I am grateful to God for this chance to work and live in such a place; deep peace within me resounds when I say: I have arrived/I am home.

I am certain that the Lord has a wonderful purpose in mind for the Church of the Ascension. Knowing I will be working with the Saints of Ascension (yes, I’ve heard our Bishop’s way of referring to his flock) and confident that Our Lord is near and leading us, I begin my new ministry with joy.
